Problem: ECsoft is an IT services company with strength in the Scandinavian and U.K. markets. It needed to expand into the rest of Europe to leverage its technology and methodology.

Solution: The Catalyst Group worked with ECsoft to map out a prioritized strategy of growth by acquisition in major European markets, and then to identify and qualify acquisition candidates. Catalyst also provided negotiation and due diligence assistance using our local language and business skills.

Result: ECsoft began its expansion program with the acquisition of IT services company Achilles IT Group BV of Amsterdam, giving the company a strong presence in the Dutch market and entre into the Continental marketplace. It followed this up by acquiring DVMB AG, in Solingen, Germany, to gain local access to the German market, and to augment its international Information Systems and Service Management practice.
