Corporate Tech Summit - Munich, 6-7 February 2002
The Strategic Value of Mergers and Acquisitions
-THE CATALYST GROUP RAISES CRUCIAL ISSUES AT SUMMIT -
This year's Corporate Tech Summit (6-7th February) will provide the forum for an important panel addressing 'The Path to Growth - Determining the Strategic Value of M&As'. Amongst other leading figures from the European venture capital community on the panel will be Peter Hildrew, Principal of The Catalyst Group, a mergers and acquisitions specialist for the international IT industry.
Hildrew is well placed to comment on the changes in fortune and fashion that the IT industry has endured over the boom and bust cycles of the last decade. The Catalyst Group frequently provides advice and practical solutions to IT companies faced with today's more sombre climate of expectation. This, combined with unrelenting competition has served to dramatically reduce shareholder value and unsettle investors. As a panellist, Hildrew can draw on his company's wide experience in order to discuss solutions to such situations, including consolidation and the importance of realising the full worth of a company's assets. He is also in a position to outline why companies should consider a merger or acquisition, and point out the realities of M&A in today's market place.
The 'Path to Growth' panel takes place on Day 2 at 1.30pm in Salon Marco Polo.
Hildrew will be joined at the Corporate Tech Summit by the head of Catalyst's German operation, Wolfgang Fieger. He is moderating a session in which corporate investors introduce the business opportunities they are currently considering. This takes place on Day 2 at 10.10am in Ballroom B.
Peter Hildrew said: "The Corporate Tech Summit brings together many of Europe's leading venture capital organisations and leading players from vertical markets. We are proud to be contributing to the wealth of knowledge that will be available to delegates, and expect to get involved in healthy debate on the challenging issues that face growing companies today."
